Strengthening Teacher-Student Collaboration In the Virtual World
While self-paced learning brings big benefits, live communication, feedback and a strong sense of classroom community are necessary to ensure best results. KVE’s programs equip teachers with digital and traditional tools to foster strong communication in virtual environments, including:
- Extensive telephone and instant messaging to stay in contact with students to provide clear instructions and assistance as needed and to offer regular feedback and encouragement.
- Interactive whiteboard: to conduct live class sessions over the Internet using PowerPoint or video.
Students meet together virtually as a group to:
- Absorb the teacher's preview or review of material
- Engage in discussions and debates
- Participate in labs and demonstrations
- Give formal presentations to their fellow students online
