The Kaplan Solution significantly increases the reach of educational programs to groups with diverse needs. We provide options to a wide array of students who may be limited due to funding, location, special needs, or are simply looking for advancement through alternative education. Our state-of-the-art virtual programs not only recreate live classroom settings, but are also tailored for individuals to work at their own pace. Our innovative learning model is proven to increase enrollment rates, thus enhancing educational opportunities nationwide.

Homebound/Alternative Education

When your students cannot attend traditional classes due to medical, behavioral or other constraints, our homebound solution allows them to continue their progress with content aligned to their regular courses. This is an affordable alternative to the traditional home school approach. The homebound program assures students the ability to transition between classroom and home without losing pace.

Juvenile Detention

Online education can serve (and often save) students confined to detention centers who are at severe academic risk. This program offers over 45 courses to students who reside in a juvenile detention facility and need to take grades 6-12 courses for a minimum of four weeks. Students use the center's lab facilities and equipment while Kaplan Virtual Education (KVE) provides remote instructional support. Special courses have been developed to eliminate student interaction and comply with regulations.

Advanced Placement/Select Courses

Advanced Placement:
Expand your catalog to meet the needs of students with the highest level of academic achievement. KVE offers 14 highly rigorous courses approved by the College Board for students who seek to earn college credits while in high school. Once coursework is completed, your students are eligible to take AP exams.

Select Courses:
Increase the core of your curriculum to match today's multi-channel, multi-national demands. Add new classes you may not have offered before - electives like World Languages, Technology, or SAT preparation.

Credit Recovery

Your students in grades 9-12 who are at risk of dropping out or falling behind because of not passing certain classes will benefit from our Credit Recovery program. This program allows students, who have already satisfied the seat time requirements, to focus on earning credit based on the competency of the content. Through the use of modular or "gated" technology students focus only on the areas they don't understand, saving time, resources and frustration. Through diagnostic assessments and a personal pacing tool, students focus only on those objectives and curricular skills where they do not show mastery while allowing them to bypass those where they do.

Summer School

Offer students the convenience of summer school courses with the flexible schedule available through online classes. The summer school program serves both full-time and part-time students from grades 6-12 across foundation, standard, honors and AP courses. This program includes both single semester and full year courses, which are completed by students during the 4 to 8 week period, as well as courses, which were created for the 4 to 8 week summer school term.

Dropouts

Developed with the sole objective of bringing back dropouts and preventing students at risk from dropping out, KVE created a program that combines a over 70 courses. This solution can be used as a full-time and part-time program for grades 6-12 across foundation and standard academic tracks and includes the critical Credit Recovery courses.
