The Homebound/Alternative Education program allows districts to effectively serve students with a broad range of needs, including those in a homebound treatment program. Considering that these students may spend only a portion of the semester in a course, a Personal Portfolio Plan is developed – allowing for individualized placement, monitoring and reporting of student progress and work productivity. This option far exceeds the traditional home school model of sending instructional materials and teachers to each student's home.
